Antique Chinese Tongzhi Famille Rose Rooster Bowl Hand Painted A1275

Antique Chinese Qing dynasty porcelain bowl dating to the Tongzhi period, circa 1862–1874. Entirely hand painted with a lively continuous scene of roosters and hens among flowering plants and foliage in vivid famille rose enamels. The raised foot is finished with a blue scrolling border, while the interior is decorated with delicate turquoise and pink floral sprays. The underside carries an iron-red seal mark and an old wax collection seal. Rooster-decorated famille rose bowls are documented from the Tongzhi period, including examples specifically dated 1862–1874.
