Description
This antique German oyster plate by Carl Tielsch dates to circa 1880 and features an elegant shell-form design with six scalloped wells and a raised central well. The porcelain is finished in soft pink and cream tones, with pale aqua accents, highlighted by hand-applied gilt outlining that follows the plate's sculptural contours. Each oyster well is delicately shaded to evoke the natural shell interiors, giving the piece a refined, cohesive presentation.
Measuring approximately 9.5" in width, the plate displays excellent glaze quality and fine period craftsmanship. Condition is mint, with no chips, cracks, or repairs observed. A highly decorative and collectible example of late 19th-century German porcelain, well-suited for oyster plate collectors or fine tableware displays.
