Description
This antique Italian oyster plate was produced by Ginori Doccia circa 1880 and features a refined shell-form design with six scalloped oyster wells surrounding a circular center well. The porcelain is finished in soft white with pale pink shading along the rims, divided by flowing olive-gray separators that give the plate a naturalistic, organic appearance. A fine gilt ring encircles the central well, adding a subtle decorative accent without overwhelming the elegant form.
Measuring approximately 8.75", the plate displays smooth glazing and well-balanced proportions typical of Ginori Doccia craftsmanship. The underside bears the red Doccia stamp. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, or repairs noted. A restrained yet sophisticated example of late 19th century Italian porcelain, ideal for collectors of oyster plates or European tableware.
