Beautiful antique French majolica oyster plate by Sarreguemines, molded with six shell-shaped oyster wells surrounding a raised central sauce or lemon well. The warm peach-orange shells contrast beautifully with green and blue seaweed decoration, creating a very attractive coastal palette. The reverse bears the impressed Sarreguemines France factory mark and additional impressed numbers. Sarreguemines is well documented for producing collectible French majolica oyster plates in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
