Art Nouveau Japanese Kanzashi Set Kushi Comb/Kōgai Stick, Maki-e Lacque GS717

This is a traditional Japanese hair accessory set consisting of a kanzashi comb (kushi) and hair stick (kōgai), finished with detailed maki-e lacquer work and mother-of-pearl (MOP) mosaic inlay. The design features elegant feline motifs with flowing Art Nouveau–style lines and fine handwork throughout.

Pieces like this were often made by hand over many days to weeks, and the selling price today is only a fraction of the original craftsmanship value. The comb measures approximately 3 3/4" x 1 3/4", and the hair stick measures 6 1/4". A refined, high-detail set for display, collection, or Japanese decorative arts.
