Description
This is a French art glass scent perfume bottle, or cologne. The maker is Maurius Sabino. The date is circa 1925 – 1930. The glass is opalescent opaline, a type of glass that Sabino made. In order to photograph this type of glass effectively, the background needs to be black, and that gives the glass a black tinge. No, the glass does not have any black in it. The perfume is 5 3/8” high and 2” wide at the bottom. The bottle shows nude women in relief, circling the body of the bottle, with a toe or foot dipped into a pool of water. The stopper is original to the bottle and it is faceted. The bottom of the bottle has the etched mark or signature of “Sabino Paris.” I provide a copy of the text that identifies this mark as to date and maker. There are no chips, nicks or cracks.
