NAME: Japanese Modern Wooden Creative Kokeshi Doll Sadao Kishi, "Mushin", with box               

TITLE: Mushin, Innocence; イノセンス

MAKER:  Sadao Kishi

SIZE:  Approx. 15-1/2" tall, 3-5/8" diameter at the widest part of the head

CONDITION:  Great condition.  The topknot appears to be made of a different wood and is darker or has darkened with age.

 Mr. Kishi was born in 1932 and has passed.  He was a multi award winning artist.  He won the Prime Minister award (top prize) at least a couple of times.  This doll, called "Mushin", won the Prime Minister Award in 1968.

The wheat pattern is done by the burnt wood technique.

Very classic Sadao Kishi.
