This stunningly beautiful Limoges oyster plate is a definite statement piece, featuring a cobalt blue ombre wash of color and elaborate gilding. The edges of the plate are heavily gilded with an added brush of gilding reminiscent of water. The inner five wells of the oyster plate are hand-painted with raised textural gilding and depict sea life figures of a shell, coral, starfish, and a flower. The center sauce well is adorned with a hand-painted starfish and coral or seaweed. This gorgeous plate is a decorative plate made to be displayed. The back bears the crown and crossed swords mark for a reproduction Limoges plate. It is rare and unique! It measures 9 1/2" in diameter and has a beautifully scalloped edge created by the swirled oyster shells as they reach the edge.

This is a heavy and sturdy piece! It is in beautiful vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing, and would look gorgeous displayed on a wall, shelf, or china cabinet.
