Description
This brooch is a great example of Ruser's children of the week line. This brooch features a child standing upon a sapphire-sprinkled cloud landscaped with a pail of water, holding a mop. Fascinating indeed. This is a huge (2 5/8") version of the "Saturday's child works hard for his living". Stamped on the back with the signature of renowned American pin designer Ruser, and 14k.
RUSER was best known for his figural jewelry with freshwater pearls. William Ruser's shop was located on Rodeo Drive. Hollywood starlets loved to wear his pieces on and off screen.
Monday'sChildd poem:
Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.
