Vintage French Hand Painted Nautical Oyster Plate Lighthouse Sailboats 9.5"A1250

Charming vintage French oyster plate with six molded wells surrounding a central sauce well, all hand painted with whimsical seaside scenes. The decoration includes a lighthouse, sailboats, fishermen, shellfish, and the coastal place name “Arès,” set against blue, green, pink, and black accents with a distinctive speckled gray background. The scalloped rim gives the plate additional movement and character. The underside is unmarked. Similar 9.25" French ceramic oyster plates are documented from the mid-20th century.
