Vintage Japan Bisque Porcelain Reclining Mermaid Blue Tail Figurine A1236

Charming vintage Japanese bisque porcelain mermaid figurine in a classic reclining pose with both arms raised behind her head. She has a pale matte body, painted reddish-orange hair accents, and a vivid cobalt-blue tail. The underside is hand-marked “JAPAN.” Similar small reclining Japanese mermaids are generally dated to the mid-20th century and were sold as decorative or aquarium/undersea novelty figurines. A nearly identical blue-tail example measuring 3 5/8" is currently listed as a vintage Japanese bisque mermaid.

Condition: Mint vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Light original paint variation consistent with age and hand decoration.
