Charming hand-painted Limoges France porcelain trinket box modeled as a yellow melon or squash, finished with green leaves, seed-like accents and warm orange shading. The box is fitted with a bronze-tone metal mount and a detailed honey bee clasp. Interior is marked “Limoges France Peint Main P.V.”; P.V. is associated with Parry Vieille Limoges boxes. Similar P.V. fruit boxes with bee clasps are documented in the collector market. This is a large box.
