Vintage Sansaku Sekiguchi Dōjo Young Girl Sosaku Kokeshi Signed Plaque A1197

Vintage Japanese Sōsaku Kokeshi titled “Dōjo” (童女 / Young Girl) by renowned master artist Sansaku Sekiguchi (関口三作). Hand-carved wooden figure with a serene closed-eye expression, traditional dark kimono, carved floral decoration, and distinctive rounded black hairstyle.

The base bears Sekiguchi’s red artist seal, and the original wooden identification plaque accompanies the figure. The plaque identifies the work as “Dōjo” and notes Sekiguchi’s recognition as a Contemporary Master Craftsman and three-time recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award.
