Description
Pre-1900s porcelain ceramic oyster plate in crisp white, brown, and gold. Beautiful serving piece with five inventions for serving oysters. Each divot is decorated with an oyster (or muscle) featuring brown-painted detail on the edges and center. At the center of the plate are three divots in the shape of seashells. This would be an excellent spot for hot sauce or other condiments. The edges of the plate are scalloped or pie crust, and have an alternating pattern under each. A gold-painted rim detail surrounds the piece. Some rubbing of the gold has occurred. This piece dates to the pre-1900s and is in excellent age-appropriate condition. One small chip at the top edge, as shown in the photos. German oyster plate Dimensions: 8.25" x 8.5" diameter 1.13" tall Retail $332
